Every home has a story. We help you discover yours and bring it to life through thoughtful design.
Every client has a story, and my job is to translate it into space.
I have always believed that a home is much more than the walls that hold it together. It is a reflection of the people who live in it - their personalities, their memories, their everyday rituals, and the things they hold close.
As designers, we often begin with conversations about colours, materials, furniture and layouts. But I believe the more meaningful conversations happen beneath the surface.
How do you like to spend your mornings? Where does everyone gather at the end of a long day? What makes you feel at home? What would you like your home to say about you, without having to say a word?
These are the questions that interest me.
My role is not simply to create a beautiful space, nor is it to impose a particular style or aesthetic. It is to listen, observe and interpret - to understand what matters to someone and find a way to give those ideas a physical form.
Sometimes that means bringing a client's vision to life; sometimes it means helping them discover possibilities they hadn't considered.
I find that the most meaningful spaces emerge from this exchange between the client's world and the designer's imagination. They are thoughtful without being contrived, beautiful without trying too hard, and personal in ways that go beyond what is immediately visible.
At TABA Design Studio, this is the spirit I hope to bring to every project. An understanding that good design is not just about how a space looks, but how it feels to live in it. How it supports everyday life, holds memories, brings people together and gradually becomes a part of their story.
And if you're wondering who is behind these thoughts, the designs and the studio - Hi, I am Tantrima Basistha, an architect and the founder of TABA Design Studio. I believe in creating spaces that tell stories, and I look forward to discovering yours.

Everything you need to know, before we begin.
What makes TABA Design Studio different?
TABA Design Studio approaches every project as a balance of architecture, interiors, materiality, and everyday living. We create considered spaces that are tailored to each client rather than following a fixed design formula.
Where does TABA Design Studio take up projects?
We work across selected locations depending on the project's scope and requirements. Get in touch with us to discuss your project location and feasibility.
What services does TABA Design Studio offer?
Our services cover architecture, interior design, spatial planning, material selection, detailing, and project execution. The scope is tailored to the requirements of each project.
What does it mean that TABA is a design-led studio?
At TABA, we believe design should lead the process. We don't begin with a BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and work backwards to fit a design around it. We begin by understanding the client, the space and the brief. The design evolves through this process, guiding our choices of materials, finishes and details. The BOQ and cost estimates follow as the design takes shape, helping align the final proposal with the project budget.
How long does an interior or architecture project take?
Every project has its own timeline depending on its size, complexity, approvals, materials, and execution requirements. We establish a realistic timeline during the initial planning stage.
Does TABA Design Studio offer turnkey interiors?
TABA Design Studio specializes in design and project management consultancy (PMC), rather than turnkey execution. We develop the design, prepare the necessary drawings and specifications, and provide project management support during execution. The actual execution and procurement are handled separately, with the scope of our involvement agreed upon for each project.
What is the cost of designing a 2BHK?
The cost depends on the project's area, design scope, materials, finishes, furniture, and execution requirements. Once we understand the space and your expectations, we can provide a more accurate estimate.
How much does villa design cost?
Villa projects involve a wider architectural and spatial scope, so costs vary according to built-up area, design complexity, interiors, materials, and site requirements. We prepare a project-specific proposal after understanding the brief.
What design styles does TABA work with?
We don't restrict our work to a single style. Our designs can range from contemporary and minimal to warm, earthy, modern, or more expressive interiors, depending on the architecture, context, and personality of the client.
Do you take up renovation projects?
Yes. We can work with existing spaces and develop renovation or transformation projects depending on the condition of the property and the extent of changes required.
